oh hi there...its been a while bloggy blog friend. I am not sure a single sole even visits you anymore...my bad!

but today, i just felt like venting....and expressing, and typedity typing.
so here goes. Remember when we all learned about stream of consciousness?

deep breath........

What is it about pinterest?...every post is either about gaining a six pack or baking dessert, it makes no SENSE! you are working against yourself!!!!! On top of that, who has time to bake all that fucking dessert and do all of that exercise?!? NO ONE!

speaking of dessert, i recently lost 20 lbs..yep, feeling pretty good. and i dont care who reads this and thinks "that bitch!" but honestly- how the hell am i supposed to afford all new clothes? You know how you save clothes for years thinking you will fit into them one day and then OPera tells you to throw them out because they are bad for your 'inner self'....yeah thanks Opera, hope you are sending me a check for my new clothes. I have also noticed that men, men who claim not to care about weight....TOTALLY care about weight. they do, its a lie.

My dog has epilepsy. full blown seizure epilepsy. I am diabetic, celiac with necrobiosis lipoidica and i adopt the dog with EPILEPSY. This is a joke right? God, I hope you find the same kind of humor in my life as i do...i guess i will always be laughing at myself. I am currently applying to PA school and i honestly feel as if my personal statement should read something along the lines of "SWF w/epileptic DOG- hoping to become PA. Likes LW on B. Works in PEDS with SCIDS. loves ETOH of the VINO variety. Has multiple disorders.

I went on an online date once where the man asked me to help him break up a marriage of a woman he was in love with. He also gifted me with a taser at the end of the date. I am glad i now have a taser.

for those who want a real update:
i went to peru
did the inca trail
went to india
thailand
learning spanish
got my masters
working
have a dog now-in case you didnt figure that one out (its ok, slow people are people too)
got some new niecephews
got together with somebodies
broke up with somebodies
accepted my "utah old maid status" aka: anyone over 25 and single
ran a bunch
slept a bunch
now own a taser

thats all for now. hope you enjoyed the slew of thought. all you readers better be checking on your ooey gooey better than sex cupcakes while planking your abs to death.

After much debate, I decided to dedicate this blog to my new experiences- some interesting, some boring, some gross, some delicious- because this is how I currently view my life, as a collaboration of new experiences. So I will try to blog daily.....errr.....weekly, about one new experience I had.

today for the first time ever, I re-vamped the blog (boring i know, but still a first!). I was blown away with all the options. I didn't even have to download any tricky apps or anything.

Much more interestingly: Tomorrow, I am driving up to the lovely Payette Lake in Idaho to spend the weekend in McCall. No, this is not new, I have been lucky enough to spend a quite a few weekends at this paradise; however, I am meeting a boy there (that is right, A BOY!!!), and it will be my first time there with him. This boy is not quite a first, but he is kinda new. He shall hereto be referred to as "Portland". i will let you all guess where he is from.....Robynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05381532461892702773noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564706480979099951.post-25731174473098051632010-03-08T17:43:00.000-08:002010-03-08T17:44:34.915-08:00today at work........i received this email:

Dear tenants and visitors to the Williams Building,

Building management has recently noticed unusual wildlife activities around the Williams Building property. Specifically several mountain lions have been sighted in and around the parking deck. Building management is working with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources with regard to this activity however we want to make you aware of the following guidelines from Wildlife Resources should you encounter a mountain lion when entering or leaving the facility:

Do not panic. Most lions will try to avoid confrontation.

Raise your arms to make yourself appear as large as possible. Lions prefer smaller prey.

Slowly back away. Never run and never turn your back toward the cougar. Yell at the lion and wave your arms as you back away.

Do not make direct eye contact. As we pull up we notice a gaggle of adorable men are outside smoking (damn smoking! it ruins so many adorable men). They notice us as well and as we exit the car we hear the following:

"Hey, you girls are a lot hotter than we thought you were"

thanks....i think??? I dont know if this was meant as a line or just a heads up like "hey dont worry you arent ugly" comment to make us feel better, or maybe just a warning that through the window of a car, we look terrible. It didnt get them too far, but katharine and i thought it was pretty funny.

I rate this pick up line a C..... not very creative, not very smooth, didn't illicit any sort of response, but made me smile for a few minutes.Robynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05381532461892702773noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564706480979099951.post-57855115529699282792009-11-10T09:01:00.000-08:002009-11-10T13:42:11.704-08:00Silly names for your kids.I know I am going to post one of these and I will get an angry parent email one of these times, but i could not resist with this one. But i decided in my spirit of change, to mix it up. So I ran to ski swap and picked up these beauties for 25$. thank you utah skiers who buy new skis every season and sell their olds for super cheap!Robynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05381532461892702773noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564706480979099951.post-6352532480253038832009-10-30T16:14:00.000-07:002009-10-30T16:56:29.070-07:00Back from the dead....Hi loyal readers (the two of you out there)! It has been ages since I posted. I dont have much to write about, but i thought i would do a little updating.
Since March I have....

become single!! I went with my lovely sister and played with my friend, Davin. He has lived in Buenos Aires for the past five years and loves it there. He has a GREAT group of friends who are excellent at dancing all night long and making us sad non-spanish speakers feel at home. I am so glad I went, it was a great time. Buenos Aires is a very cool ecletic city with lots of old and new architecture. It feels a lot like Europe but is a lot cheaper. We ate like kings and ran around town for two weeks enjoying food, art, music, and dancing. I have to go back soon, and you all should go at least once.

Here we are at Evita's museum, those are her dresses in the background....we are making the "it is so sad Evita died of cancer" face. This was really cool! I would recommend it to anyone. You are literally in a maze of red-rock towers. Unfortunately it is incredibly easy to get lost so you have to go on a guided tour, but it is worth the extra planning. If you are a GPS guru you can buy a permit and head out on your own, but i would suggest the guided tour first. FOR THE LOVE, AM I THAT BORING?!?!?! i think i am just in a funk over here, but I got a new camera for my birthday, so maybe my blog will take a turn for the best. Until that time, I am going to add A LOT of pics (because I know that is what makes every blog reader happy) of cute puppies/kitties....because let's be honest, we all LOVE cutesie pictures.

anyway, i decided I needed to resurrect my EXPOSE FOR THE DAY column....

so here it is....

I am incredibly good at doing really stupid things...i mean REALLY stupid!!! I am surprised to this day that I am even alive at times....

case number one: while running in DC, i run into an unknown park area, run smack into a drug deal, and then hop into a strangers car who promises to take me to my hotel....HELLO?!?!?! how DUMB AM I?

case number two: while in a river running and safety course, i am riding in an inflatable kayak with another girl, i decide in the spur of the moment that I am strong enough to pull us both upstream against rapids and grab onto a rope held by a man on land. I fly out of the kayak only to have the rope wrap around my neck and strangle me under water....i am not lying...this is how dumb i really am...i seriously thought that i could pull my body, this other girls body, AND the boat against rapids? We are slowly building to 5-miles (read SLOWLY). Turns out though, nine month old puppies dont really want to run unless they are chasing things, eating things, trying to hop on bicycles, trying to jump on their owner, etc. etc. Fortunately I don't have to plan any sprints, izzy adds them in whenever she sees a cat/squirrel/car/person/stroller/dog/leaves blowing in the wind/anything moving. Hey at least I am running(and a lot faster with a dog dragging me)!Robynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05381532461892702773noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564706480979099951.post-32640547554924616852008-08-14T16:53:00.000-07:002008-08-14T17:06:04.992-07:00The most dangerous site on the web....
Hav you ever found a place so wonderful that the little kid in you tries to keep it a secret from everyone so it can be just yours.........i am fighting that little snot-nosed brat right now.

http://www.etsy.com/ .................ie wonderful

I am a terrible artist, but if there is one thing I LOVE it is collecting art. You become amazed at some parents, and their inability to protect and in most cases their ability to hurt. I admire all you mothers and fathers out there. I know, from watching others, that being a parent is very hard, and that it can be very frustrating. I also know that this country does not provide very many outlets to struggling parents...this is why we have such a high rate of abuse...
but i do think parenting is perhaps the most important thing you can do, and doing it well is extremely underrated. So to all you parents out there, way to make the lifelong commitment to being good to your kids

This story really epitomizes what good parenting can do....and what bad parenting can do as well
try not to cry...i dare you!

http://www.tampabay.com/features/humaninterest/article750838.eceRobynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05381532461892702773noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564706480979099951.post-8714124716725456932008-08-01T09:34:00.000-07:002008-08-01T16:45:09.062-07:00how to keep yourself from losing all your friends.
So last night i am sitting at home with the boy eating dinner.
